2011 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Preview
Four Big 12 teams and one individual golfer will be competing in the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship that will be held this week at Karsten Creek in Stillwater.
Top-ranked Oklahoma State will be playing on its home course. Texas A&M, which won the national championship in 2009, is in the field along with Oklahoma and Texas. Missouri’s Jace Long qualified by tying a school record with a 62 to win medalist honors at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Oklahoma State coach Mike McGraw thinks that his team has a chance to win the school’s 11th national championship.
Texas A&M golfer Jordan Russell says that Karsten Creek, which hosted the NCAA championship in 2003, offers a stern test.
Oklahoma State hopes that it will have a home course advantage.
