There’s NFL 2013 live streaming and televised football on Thursday night as two potential surprise teams will face off. The 2-0 Kansas City Chiefs will pay a visit to the 1-1 Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field tonight, with Chiefs fans hoping their team can stay undefeated. Meanwhile, the Eagles will look to continue with their explosive new offense and try to go 2-1. Tonight’s Chiefs vs. Eagles game will be presented live online and on TV thanks to NFL Network.

According to ESPN.com on Sept. 19, the big story for tonight will be the return of former coach Andy Reid to Philadelphia where he coached from 2001 through 2012. Reid, who had a tumultuous 2012-13 campaign with the Eagles (4-12), now has the Chiefs on the brink of going 3-0 to start the season. The Chiefs, who finished at a paltry 2-14, weren’t among the best teams in the league last season either, but so far have surprised many fans and analysts to start out this 2013-14 season. It’s expected that their new coach may be a bit emotional as he returns to his former stomping grounds, but Reid seems to be all business, so far.

The new Kansas City coach said to the Chiefs’ official website when asked about the upcoming game and situation in Philly:

“In this business you’re focused in on getting your team ready to play. That’s where my energy is going to go. I haven’t really thought about that other part at all. I don’t necessarily plan on thinking about that. I want to make sure I concentrate on the game at hand and anything else becomes a distraction and I’m not going to let that happen.

Every coach tells you these Thursday nights, it’s a quick turnaround, and you just have to go. It’s something you have to do. You buckle down and make sure you get it done.”

Former Virginia Tech star Michael Vick, who played under Reid in Philadelphia since the 2009 season, has called it “just another football game.” So far, Vick’s Eagles team has gone 1-1 but has scored a whopping 63 points in their first two games of the season. That’s thanks to the explosive offensive game plan of their new coach Chip Kelly. Vick currently has 631 yards passing with four touchdowns and not a single interception. That’s been good for a passer rating of 119.0, which is third-highest in the NFL as of this report.

On the other side of the field is former 49ers quarterback Alex Smith, now playing for Kansas City. So far in the two victories for KC, Smith has racked up nearly 400 yards passing on 42-of-70 completed passes, with 4 touchdowns thrown. Dwayne Bowe has been among his top targets with 86 yards on 8 receptions and 1 touchdown scored. Those two hooked up on the winning play for the Chiefs in Sunday’s game as they made a thrilling comeback to edge the Cowboys 17-16. Can the Chiefs continue those winning ways as their new coach makes his first appearance back home in Philadelphia?

Thursday night’s NFL game featuring the Chiefs and Eagles has a start time of 8:25 p.m. EST. Cable and satellite TV viewers can watch the matchup via the NFL Network where available. In addition, the NFL.com website should provide live streaming “look-ins” at the game action along with discussion of the game from their various analysts. Other live stream methods for tonight’s game may include DIRECTV NFL Sunday Ticket premium subscription service and Verizon’s NFL Insider for mobile devices.
